‘Total War: Rome II‘ coming to SteamOS, the Linux-based operating system that should bring Valve Steam to the living room. Doesn’t mean ’Total War: Rome II‘ is Steam exclusive, the game is expected also to run on other Linux platforms.
The release of the game for SteamOS is somewhere in 2014, the publisher of the Total War franchise, Creative Assembly, told game site Polygon. Early next year, the latest addition to the Total War series support for the recently demonstrated Steam Controller is present. The game should be playable from the couch in the living room without keyboard+mouse input. Time will tell how the innovative controller holds up to a mous+keyboard.
Earlier this week, Deep Silver and 4A Games confirmed the Linux version of Metro: Last Light will support SteamOS and Steam Controller. Valve also confirmed that Steam Machine beta testers will get Metro: Last Light as part of the upcoming beta test.
So it begins ….. Linux Gaming FTW!!!
