Steam breaks through 7 million logged-on users


For the first, gaming platform Steam, had more than seven million users online simultaneously . A year ago, the popular platform broke the first boundary of 6 million users . Steam has a total user-database of 65 million accounts.

The share of the total user population of 65 million Steam that is online, is hovering around 10 percent, but in the night of Sunday to Monday Steam broke through, with 7 million users using their service. The user record is specifically 7190483.

A year ago, on November 26, 2012 , the limit of six million was broken and it was a year before that same five million users were online for the first time. In 2012 Steam still had a total of 50 million users in 2011, that number was 40 million .

The most popular game is Dota 2 from Valve itself, which last night drew 542 906 gamers . The second most popular game is also Valve : in total there were 93,905 gamers online with Counter-Strike : Global Offensive. The last one is still to make an appearance on Linux.
