Steam Is really Coming Together

It seems the developers over at Valve are still burning the midnight oil to keep those awesome improvements rolling out for gamers like ourselves.

When I logged into Steam this morning the first thing that greeted me was the new menu at the top, the “For You” menu.

Steam New Menu

The “For You” menu features include:

  • Recommended by Steam
  • Popular among friends
  • Recently updated

The menu also includes “Tags recommended for you” that can include game genre, style, whether the game is single or multiplayer and so on:

  • Survival
  • Multiplayer
  • Indie
  • Crafting
  • Sandbox

Overall I’d say that this is a very welcome edition to the Steam client and should help make search faster and more convenient. If you don’t see the new menu yet don’t worry, I’m running the beta client which can be turned on from “Settings” under the Steam menu.

I love all things Linux, my favorite distro being Ubuntu followed closely by Kubuntu and Linux Mint (Cinnamon and KDE). As far as I'm concerned Linux is the future of gaming. Lets make the world as open and transparent as we can!
